The PPC bonus (“PPS toeslag”) is a subsidy that is used to start new projects that contribute to one or more roadmaps of the Topsector Chemistry/Holland Chemistry. These Chemistry Roadmaps are enabelers for taking on the grand challenges that lie ahead of us with respect to climate, circularity and health. The subsidy can be acquired in two forms –Program subsidy or Project Subsidy. TKI Chemistry will apply for these subsidies on your behalf. Both subsidies share the characteristic that there is a 30% subsidy on the private cash investment (and to certain limits also the private in-kind contribution). There are however some technical differences:
Program subsidy (use this when your projects are already running)
A program of running PPC-projects (relevant to Top Sector Chemistry) is reported to us. The actual (contracted) private contribution into the projects running within the program within a year is reported to us in the following year. TKI Chemistry incorporates your program of projects into a sector consolidated application to RVO (link) (office of Ministry of Economic Affairs). When the subsidy gets granted to TKI Chemistry, we reserve your part, for you to define new projects or projectextentions – in public-private cooperation. The new projects obviously also need to fit in the Roadmaps of Top Sector Chemistry. For the latter we have the suitability assessment procedure in place.
Project subsidy (use this when your project has not started yet)
If you have public and private partners lined up to start a new project, and you want to use the PPC bonus on total private contribution in the planned project directly in that same project you can apply for project subsidy. It is important to note that you should have a signed project agreement, but that your project may not start until TKI Chemistry has applied for your subsidy at RVO. This requires some good coordination.
It is advised that you contact us (firstname.lastname@example.org) in advance in all cases as the technical requirements are detailed and need proper instruction.
